Iza

Izabela Dumitru is a Cambridge-based artist, who was born in Romania but is a ‘child of the earth’. She inspires and takes her audience with her on a journey of loving what is and appreciating and protecting the gift of the natural world.
Her latest collection is all about nurture and supporting our evolution to ensure survival of life on earth. Humanity has wiped out 60% of animal populations since 1970 and this battle has become about more than just losing the wonders of nature. This is a chance to awaken and belong and embrace the gift of live, which extends beyond human life.
The series of small paintings are of animals that are going extinct, one by one and up to 200 species daily. The paintings are about hope… that Mother Earth will protect them until such time that the conditions on Earth are again favourable for their existence.
The paintings show the relationship between animals, Mother Earth and humanity, depicted through a female figure
hidden in each painting representing life force itself and a connection that is preserved by feminine energy.
